Boss Kills and Legendary Quest Chains

Another week of raiding done and Shadow Rising has killed another boss! Both Arv and Van have already written about it so I'll try and be brief.

Tuesday Arv came for the first two bosses on his druid and a promise that next week he'll be solo tanking council as a bear. But for this week he switched to his paladin and I didn't have to try and pretend I understand how to tank that fight. Thankfully Arv was willing to talk me though how to tank Megaera and
Ji-kun since I was dpsing the other times we had done those fights. We managed to reach Durumu the Forgotten and after a few attempts realized we needed a better idea of the fight. So the raid was called for the night and we were given a homework assignment of watching the fight so we would be prepared for learning the fight on Wednesday.

Wednesday we went to work and kept seeing improvements and finished off the night with a boss kill. We thought about just calling it a night right there but Arv was determined to go see Primordious and set off though the oozes. We attempted to follow him but the first set of oozes blew most of us up before we even reached the room. Next week we'll do better.

This week I have managed to hit the 3000 vp needed to continue the legendary questline and I just needed to kill a mob at Domination Point and to win two battlegrounds. I had attempted earlier to kill the mob in the Alliance area but I couldn't deal with his spinning, summoned adds, and rifle shooting by myself. So after we called the raid for the night I asked for volunteers to help me with my quest. There was quite a lot of help and we quickly went down and stomped the dwarf into the dust.

Thursday night I spent in pvp to try and complete the legendary questline. I qued up for Silvershard mines and Temple and waited to see what I would get. I got Silvershard and it went terrible. The Alliance was getting the carts and holding onto them with a vengeance. But with a little persistence I did manage to snag an achievement even though I didn't get a win.

The next battleground I got was Silvershard again and it went about as well as the first. I wasn't feeling too lucky so didn't que for Silvershard again. I usually have really good luck with Temple so I decided to wait for that que. Temple is one of my favorite bg's since the goals are pretty simple. Get an orb, stay alive, and kill those other people.

And doing that enough times will get you an achievement. I can't stop, won't stop and just don't plan to stop anytime soon. :) After dominating that battleground I was ready to try another Silvershard bg and got lucky with a group that kicked butt.
Part two completed! Time to start collecting trillium and other stuff for Wrathion for part three. At least he doesn't require more valor points.

Collecting pets and mounts

I've continued to run SSC and Eye on both my death knights and I've managed to get two more of the pets collected. The Pocket Reaver and the Tideskipper were nice enough to drop but I'm still looking to get a Coilfang Stalker and a Phoenix Hawk Hatchling.

I also finally got around to doing the new quests on my human death knight and getting her the amazing Hordebreaker title. And I was finally able to get Gahz'rooki since I've been spending all of my Horde death knight's mojo on supplementing her tank and dps gear.

For a few weeks now I have been obsessed with one thing. Getting my new little death knight better gear! I've felt that I couldn't play unless I was doing something to improve her gear, professions, rotations, or just getting better. I've even considered that I should spend time leveling something else. And than it hit me. Tyledres was already valor capped, she couldn't buy anymore gear, had already completed the weekly Barren's quest, and had maxed her main professions, cooking, and fishing over a week ago! There was nothing else that she has needed to do. I didn't have to do anything! I could go faff! So I thought about some of the things I wanted to do and one of the things that I wanted to do was to finally get a Magical Crawdad. I had made one brief attempt during Wrath but I've never went back to try again. I headed to the spot I
thought it was supposed to be and began fishing. After a few pools I began doubting that I remembered where I needed to be so I did a quick check at El's Angling, realized I was in the right spot, and so continued fishing. A few casts later and OMG!!!! Mr. Pinchy!!! Holy Crap that was fast! So I clicked and What?! No Way!!! OMG! OMG! OMG! That was an achievement! The magical crawdad was now mine!

Pets weren't the only thing I've been collecting this past few weeks. I've also managed to snag a few new mounts. A few weeks ago I had duoed most of Uld with a friend. We managed to clear everything except for Yogg. I had managed to previously get the Uld 25 achievement mount but I was one achievement short of getting the Uld 10 man mount. The only achievement I had left was Iron Dwarf, Meduim Rare so I decided to try and get that last achievement. It took several tries before I got all the dwarfs flamed and I had to resort to equipping my pickaxe so I didn't end up one-shotting the dwarves with a regular hit. But I eventually managed to get all 25 dwarves killed and I had a pretty new drake.

I also managed to get the last of the three cloud serpents. I had picked up the blue one on my orignial death knight and the yellow one on my paladin. I had thought to get the last one on my new death knight but ended up picking a yellow one instead of a green one so I was still a serpent short. So I put the time in on my druid and managed to nab my last cloud serpent. Thank goodness for the account-wide rep bonuses

The last mount that I got was a red panther mount! Even though I had learned the recipes for the panther mounts on my jewelcrafters I never really thought I would actually own one myself. About a week ago I had a realization. I had around 20k gold on my old server spread amoung several toons but since I was now spending my time as Horde on Drak'Tharon I didn't really need much gold on my toons anymore. So I decided to take what I've earned and buy something that I would never buy otherwise. My original thought was a pet or a bike but after a look at the auction house I saw that there weren't any pets in the right price range and I was a bit short to buy a mount. But I thought about the panther mounts. A quick look showed that I could buy the expensive item and I had an alchamist, jewelcrafter, and miners to gather the rest of the supplies I needed! So what color to get? I decided I wanted the mount as quickly as possible so I'd make whatever color of panther I could get the necessary gems for first and red won! Red flying awesome panther mount now belonged to me!

Ji-Kun: Chicken or the Egg

As those readers of both Vanicus and Arvash know last night Shadow Rising managed to kill Ji-kun!

As it was Wednesday night Wok and Arv where tanks so I got to use my less than steller dps set.  I've been focusing on building up my tanking set but I feel that I can now start giving my frost spec the love and attention it deserves.

Last week and the first few attempts this week on Ji-kun I was part of the upper group which consisted of doing as much damage as I could, not falling off the platform, and trying to absorb some of the green puddles (if I  used anti-magic shell after I started absorbing the puddle I would soak the damage and prevent the stack from getting on me but if I used it before I started absorbing I couldn't absorb the puddle at all).  But eventually I was switched to the egg group. It's a blast flying all around the platforms although it was a tad bit confusing at first. But there was definitely a set pattern to which eggs activated and where I was going and when to pick up feathers I liked it much better than being on the platform. But I also had very little idea of how the fight was actually going. So I was pretty surprised to find myself suddenly on the platform until I could hear everyone being excited about having managed to kill Ji-kun.

Who's that Pet Break

Lately I've been advoiding looking at my blog. I know that I haven't posted the answer to the mystery pet from two weeks ago and it's been eating away at me. It's not that they are particularly difficult to make and if I wasn't such an awful procrastinator I could finish several at a time... I just don't want to. It makes me feel a little awful inside because I was pretty excited about the idea but I'm not enjoying it as much as I used to. So I'm stopping. No more. I'm not sure if it's a perment break or not but I'm not planning to make anymore anytime soon. I'm not done with blogging and I hope that I'll be doing more writing now instead of just posting the mystery pet and the answer. If anyone else wants to create their own or their own version I'd say to go right away and let me know so I can try and guess as well. I do have one last answer to post although it's a week late. But I will definitely feel better knowing that it's at least complete.

5.3 Pet Hunt

When 5.3 came out I had only a few thoughts in my mind.
1. Death knight needs gear
2. Level all the ways of cooking
3. Get all the new raid pets!

So here's the additions to my pet stable these past two weeks:

From Raids
I knew I would be able to get all the Kara pets the first week. There has to be one benefit of having a ton of alts! Then I went on a pet giving spree and needed to collect several of them all over again. XD

Lil' Bad Wolf was one of the pets I was most looking forward to getting. So I was pretty excited to get him right away.

I love how the fiendish imp comes out of a portal. I wasn't too impressed with him until I saw from Cyrme that you can sometimes summon Kil'rek instead. Now he's pretty cool.

I was pretty excited to see the menagerie custodian because of the Blog Azeroth sharetopic back in December that asked what pets would we like to see. This was one of the items on my list and it was pretty awesome to see a pet that I really wanted.

And the last Kara pet is the Netherspace Abyssal. I'm really glad to have this pet because I haven't yet tracked down a minfernal. And the abyssal does a really cool looking hellfire! It's a pretty tall pet. When it's fed a biscuit it ends up being bigger than my little goblin warlock!

The Lesser Voidcaller is the only pet I currenlty have from Tempest Keep although I haven't been farming the eye or SCC with all my alts, just my death knights. I don't think I'll have much luck with killing Kael on any of my other toons and I can't bear to run the raid without killing him because he might, just possibly might, have a phoenix mount. It could happen.

I really dislike SCC for one reason and one reason only. The first time I entered on my human death knight I thought I'd be able to quickly get though the place in my dps spec. Until I reached Hydros and he kept resisting everything. Well, almost everything. I eventually managed to kill it by using death and decay, plague strike, and death strike along with a few choice cuss words. After that my death knights just run the place in blood spec. I wasn't certain I could kill Lady Vashj at first but quickly realized I could live though whatever she dished out.

From Fishing
After I got my blood elf leveled I really wanted to get her professions leveled and I couldn't consider cooking leveled until I had managed to master all the ways of cooking. I determined that the best way for me to level all that cooking was to go where the fish of the day were at and fish up large quantities of fish to trade for cooking tokens to then purchase the materials needed to level a way of cooking. It's taken several days but I eventually managed to level all my ways of cooking. Now I just need to fish up more tokens to buy a bell and some recipes.
I didn't get my first carp until my second day of fishing. I was pretty shocked and excited to get a carp. But I also remembered that Navi had been looking for carps for quite awhile so I decided it would make a perfect surprise for her. I switched over to Navi's realm and tossed it in the mail and then returned to Tyle to continue her fishing. Less than five casts later and she's got another green carp! I really couldn't believe it! How lucky was that? The Ferengi are definitely wrong when they say "No good deed goes unpunished."

On the third day of fishing the location of the fish of the day changed and I was pretty excited because I got some new scenery. I was also pretty excited because I caught my blue carp.

The next location was the alchemy fish one so I took a bit of a fishing break. When I next resumed my fishing it was in a little coastal town and just when I was getting ready to call it a night I found my tiny white carp.

Gear
I was pretty excited because last week I got to run with Shadow Rising as a tank on my death knight. I was also incredibly nervous because she was terribly ungeared. I really expected her to go splat far more than she did. But that week after finishing up MSV, HoF, and Terrace I was finally able to get Tyledres into her first ToT LFR and that very first section didn't get her any gear but it did give Tyledres a few surprises.
Pygmy Direhorn! I hadn't realized that you could get pets from LFR so I was pretty excited to get this pet from Horridan. Although I was a little bummed not to get any more gear for my death knight.
I was very shocked when Council gave me a living sandling! One pet I figured was pretty awesome but two pets from the same LFR? That's pretty darn lucky. Although what I really wanted was a sword... Ah well, there's always next time.

Gift

I was pretty surprised the other day when I logged on and saw that I had some mail. A check of the mailbox and I saw that Navi had left me a Sunfur Panda! It's adorable! And I just want to say thanks again Navi.

Minfernal

These ill-tempered constructs of flame and rage sometimes rise from the remains of larger infernals who fall in battle.

The Minfernal can be caught in Felwood.
